Bufo (5-MeO-DMT)

The Bufo Alvarius toad, native to the Sonoran Desert region (Southern Arizona/Northern Mexico), produces the most potent natural medicine within our awareness—5-MeO-DMT, often called the “God Molecule”. Very different from its cultural counterpart, N,N-DMT, this molecule can produce a Unity, non-dual, “God” or Source-like experience. We validate all experiences, trusting that when we come with openness, we receive what we need. It is important to note that each individual can have very similar or very different experiences. 

Bufo is commonly ingested within a ceremonial container for the purposes of spiritual awakening / expansion. Open Heart Sanctuary was founded because of the profound insights that we received – and continue to receive – from this sacrament.

We source our medicine from the Sonoran Desert. It is harvested with care for ceremonial use.

The Ceremony & Experience

  • Method of Ingestion: Bufo is received via smoke inhalation. We have specific ceremony accessories which make the ingestion process as easy as possible, even if you’ve never inhaled anything before. Dosing depends on the size of the person,  their experience with – and sensitivity to – other entheogenic medicines in the past, and their intentions for ceremony. 
  • Dosage & Guidance: Some people feel complete after one dose, while others feel called to more. We work with you to determine what is best for you, ensuring your safety, comfort, and readiness throughout the process.
  • Integration Support: We hold space for you to process, share, and reflect on your experience, helping you understand how to integrate the insights into your daily life.
  • Ceremony Duration: 2-4 hours, depending on the number of participants.
